In attached, installing new galvanized crawl space access door. For last 50 years the entrance area has been dirt and weeds. So, I bet they leave this area dirt so majority of water is absorbed instead of going under house. What if I cement it but put some type of drain vent in middle that vents into dirt below? There aint alot of rain, in southern california.
