My old boss called me on the two-way yesterday morning to give me the “heads up” on a super deal.
Trade in any framing gun and Hitachi will give you a brand new NR83 and ten cases of nails for $199. Trade in any brand of gun and no limit on the # of trade ins. Monday morning I’m trading in two old, ready for service, Hitachi’s and getting shiny new ones along with 10 cases of ring 8’s and 10 cases of 3 1/4″ spikes.
I honestly don’t know if the deal is Nationwide or not. I do know that it is run by Hitachi and not my tool guy. The tool store I’m using is New Hampshire Tool of Southern NH. They will bring it all right out to the site, in a van full of other assorted goodies. Good company.
With nails around $20 – $30/ case (here in MA) that deal makes the upgrades on the guns free and still saves you a few bucks on the nails.

Sounds like an interesting deal. What size range and type of nails are available for the Hitachi gun? Is this deal for framing guns only? Did your old guns give good service?
Thanks!

I can't speak for him but my Hitachi's have been excellant.(I have three). I bought them on the recommendation of many builders!
Paselode has a deal where if you buy a pallet of their nails they give you a gun.. while that has been an attraction for the larger framing companies out there (Plus they come by and swap out any nail gun that is acting up and service it free)
But almost all of the builders who don't need a pallet of nails at once seem to settle on Hitachi.
Al,
I am not sure, but I believe that it is just for framing guns/nails. The Hitachi framers take pretty much the same nails as other framers. The NR83A's that I've always used take plastic collated nails ranging from 2" to 3 1/4". Awesome service from the framing guns....not very "tricked out", just durable and dependable.
Why does your ex-boss still two-way you?
When I left to go out on my own, we remained good friends. Still see him around socially. We still bounce questions off each other from time to time and frequently commiserate during working hours. We have a "joke of the day" thing where one of us will call the other guy to let him know that the labor just cut the new staging plank in half to make a header or that the architect specced a ridge beam over the glass wall gable.
Ex-boss was one of my ushers at my wedding last September. Not all relationships have to end ugly!
>I'm using is New Hampshire Tool of Southern NH.
Do you have their phone number? I'd like to get in on that deal.
Thanks- John
Sure John,
They're out of Salem, NH and their phone # is 603-898-6646. Do me a favor and ask to use "Tony" as your salesman....he's been good to me and I like to keep him busy.
Brian
Thanks- I will ask for Tony if I can get down there in time, not sure how long the promotion lasts. I'm going to call my guy locally and see if he can get me the same deal, I also have a friend close to your store who could help me out, but I'd have to get an old gun down to her. If I talk to Tony, does he just know you as Brian?
Thanks, and happy birthday by the way. John
is that the place down the street from T-Bones?bobl Volo, non valeo
Did you get your new guns? I haven't been able to get south to your guy in NH and my guy up here dosen't know anything about the deal and says his Hitachi guy dosen't know anything about it either... Too bad for me, I'll still try to get to your guy when I'm down south if the deal is still on. John
I think the deal isn't quite what you think it is.
Hitachi has had a promotion in the past but it's YOU buy ten cases of nails and then the gun is $199 (with a trade in), not a gun with 10 cases for $199.
My supplier says he thinks there will be a promo here in June but no info has been sent to him yet.
MAJOR CORRECTION HERE!!!!!!
I apologize to everyone here for the false alarm. Tony came down today and told me he had the deal wrong. Ralph is right on the money.
He gave me one gun at the original deal and one at the "real" deal to make up for it.
Big time miscommunication!
Knew it was too good to be true, sorry fellas.
sounds like he got you good with the joke of the day. maybe you owe him one
