I have a Bostitch crown stapler (new purchase). I tried it out today on some small items to see how well it worked. It didn’t. I went through three magazines and found that it it misfired (no staple) every other trigger pull. Read the manual — not enough pressure or air leak — checked, increased pressure, no air leak. By the third magazine, I discovered that if I opened and closed the magazine after every staple, it never missed. I have 15 & 18 GA staplers and have never experienced this problem. Is it me, or is it the gun?
Edit: Forgot to mention — the problem stops about 1/2 way through a magazine.

I think (operative word) you got a lemon. That said, eventually, that seems to be how they get over time. Didn't look used out of the box, did it? I think every Bos I ever had crapped out within a year. But I understand. Others cost more.

I have the bostich narrow crown stapler and every once in a while I get a box of generic staples that just don't wanna slide in the magazine quite right ,also I have to keep the magazine clean becuase the spring that pushes the staples is a little weak.
Ive had the gun for 7 or 8 years and use it for cabinets and occaasionally to blast down subfloor underlayment. Overall I think I've gotten more than my money out of it.

I own a Bostich narrow crown stapler and haven't had any problems. Unbeknown to me until after the purchase, this stapler is rated for 7/32" crown staples, not 1/4". Maybe your staples are a bit on the snug side? I've only used Bostich staples so can't say if mine will shoot 1/4"ers ok or not.
Cheers,
Don
Sounds easy. If the slide spring is too weak to push the full clip of staples 'uphill' but works when it's half full, try lubricating the magazine. I use a small bottle of Senco lubricant... it's probably just silicone spray or something similar. Spray a bunch of that in the slide/magazine area and see if it improves. And/or, try a different brand of staples.
Thanks. I'll give it a try.
I had the same problem
lubricate the magazine
If that don't work, you need a new spring for the feeder
