Cultured Stone Door Surround?
An architect specified cultured stone surrounds for a 5’x8’high Anderson Frenchwood Hinged Door on a pool house I am building. The exterior walls are cultured stone – fieldstone – too but the door surround appears to be three large pieces – two side pieces about 4″ wide and a top cross piece that is straight on the bottom but the top is radiused from about 6″ on the sides to 9″ in the center. (The radius matches curved beams in a pergola to be built infront of the pool house. I’ve searched for a supplier for something like this – most cultured stone companies make what are called trim stones that could be used but would give things sort of a tiled look instead of a one piece look. A masonry supplier said they could cut limestone possibly, but Im worried about the weight and also the fact that it wont match the color of either the fieldstone or the water table — Anyone have any ideas???
Thanks

EIFS? make your own. get good with an airbrush
I thought of using that but I don't think I would get the look that the architect and myself are going for.
Ask the architect.
Sounds to me like you are talking aout "cast stone" and not "cultured stone". Try looking into a company called Stone Legends:

A very cool company. Hope it's what you are looking for.
Here is the trade association and they have a member directory.http://www.caststone.org/I was surprised how many there where just in the KC area.
Yeah, that's what I thought it was called too, but the plans say cultured stone so I put that on the post thinking I didn't know what I was talking about
