I bought a floures shoplight the way I have several times before, only this one wasn’t assembled all the way. Four foot, two bulbs.
The sockets on the ends that the bulbs snap into weren’t attached to the ends, just lying around loose in the guts of the beast. I get to do that. Coming out of the ballast thingy on one end are two yellow wires that go to one bulb socket, then immediately to the next socket for that end, with white wires.
Then coming out of the other end of the ballast are two sets of wires, one red and one blue, each of which goes to a separate bulb socket at the other end of the fixture.
Does it matter how the sockets pair up when I assemble it and put the bulbs in, or is it enough that they go to their respective ends of the fixture?
Yes, there are indirections on the box. No it doesn’t explain this. In fact, it didn’t even point out that all the innards including the chain and s-hooks were hermetically sealed inside the fixture and I would have to take them out like the giblets from a turkey. That set me back about three minutes.
Thanks, folks.
