What are the different options for fabricating/installed curved flashing in a situation like the one below?
I ended up doing this project as a last minute fill-in for these folks as we had a break in the weather and I wanted to get it done for them as they’d been waiting patiently for a while. So I did not have time to check around and see what my options were, I just went on the advice of the roofing material store guy (who is generally fairly knowledgeable), so when I asked him if the best wayto do a curved flashing in that application would be to snip and bend, he said yes, so that’s what I did.
But I can’t look at the roof without thinking it looks like a nice curve, with a pie plate or some cheap tin doily stuck to it.
So for the future, what are my options? Could I take a template to my sheet metal supplier and could they fabricate anything like that? I’m just not sure what is and is not possible in this case since I haven’t had the pleasure of working with too many curved roofs.
The photo of the roof is below.

Some special tools (shrinker/stretcher) give the best result, but drip edge can be radiused in that direction with pipe crimpers.
Grant, thanks a lot for that. I should have just asked you directly since I know you'd know how to do it better. I took a look at how the shrinker and stretcher work, definitely would have made a better look on this project. If I can justify picking up a pair this winter I may fool around with them and then replace that flashing come next summer. It just doesn't look very pro, and it's another place for water to get in. I knew I could do it better, I just didn't have the right knowledge and I didn't feel very happy walking away from that one.
Thanks
Paul
Since the job is done
maybe you could cut out a profile of the curve from some coil stock and overlay the existing flashing then paint. A band aid if you will but purely for the aesthetic factor. Maybe let it project 1/4" past the existing line so you could create a shadow effect to camouflage the first layer which is doing the actual work. Just a thought...
This is a perfect opportunity to hone your soldering skills.
