Here is a little concept for an addition I’m working on. The main floor of this little poke-out will have 9/0 sidewalls, and a scissors truss roof, 8:12 topside and 4:12 under. Trusses in the pic are shown with their perimeter chords only. We’ll let Mr Truss figure the webbing.
Out the gable end, a 6080 patio door is flanked by some casements, and the whole array has a group of springline-curve top transoms. The porch outside has a barrel vault ceiling which is in view from the inside through the transoms.
I’m waiting right now from my truss guy to reply, as to whether he understands my need for the vault truss geometry. I’m sure we will have a meeting of the minds.
An array of 2x6s will sidescab to the bottom chords of the vault trusses, the members pattern sawn to the curve we need for planking the whole shebang with e&cb 1×6 t&g pine.
The end truss at the gable face will have a bunch of 2×3 verts on 16 centers for our gable siding and trim.
