Does anyone object to this? See the picture. Bottom chords are 2x8s, the attic space is the triangle, the picture doesn’t show the 2x webs that the truss engineer will need to place elsewhere, the span is 24 feet, the spacing is 24 inches. If you have seen it done or done it yourself, what sort of special connection detail, if any, is required between cut chord and header? Should the header be a doubled 2x? As always, your comments are appreciated.
