Cutting already installed limestone tile
About a dozen years ago we installed a gas fireplace and built the hearth and mantal support colums out of plywood boxes covered with tumbled limestone tiles. At the time we didn’t think about needing an electrical outlet on one end. But now that we’ve rearranged the living room furniture it’s clear that we overlooked that item. There’s no open wall space between the right side of the fireplace and the slider out to the deck. The doghouse for the fireplace has some wiring in it, and is where I’ll run the wire for the new outlet. The problem is how to make a hole in the limestone. Recommendations on tools and techniques are appreciated.

You could probably do it with an "oscillating tool" (Multimaster) and abrasive blade, if the stone is not too thick (less than about 3/4") or too hard. The other reasonably viable option (and one that will work with thicker stone) is the old technique of drilling multiple holes side-by-side and knocking the rock out between them. Or combine the two techniques.
Thanks. That's the general direction I was heading. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't something better to try.
I would imagine that, eg, the granite countertop guys have other techniques.
