I have to cut the end of a kitchen counter off to mate it to another counter top which will create an ell config. The probem I have is I don’t want to remove the sink counter but want to cut it in place. I’m thinking router or rotozip but there will be the inevitble last few inches a power tool won’t reach. I’ve handled plenty new installs but this ones a first for me so I thought I’d run it by all of you. I’m due on this job next Tuesday and figure I’ll have my battle plan ready by then, along wth some prayer. I don’t want to buy this lady new counters!

I would remove the countertop. I don't know of a good way to get a clean cut with the top in place. If you have to cut in place, use a laminate trimmer, you can get close to the wall or backsplash, about 1 1/2". Then score the laminate and cut by hand with a fine tooth saw.

LIke the last post said, but finish with a thin flexible "japanese" saw (slow but probably won't chip the laminate)...cut wide, and sand smooth to a straight line.
Good luck
