Cutting holes in Hardie Board Siding
I plan on using F/C siding and have searched the forum but have not really found anything about how to efficiently make holes for dryer vents, etc. I’m interested in how others have tackled this.
Thanks,
Steve

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

hole saws ( dulls up fast ).. or drills and saber saws
Hole saw. Carbide grit might work better than sawtooth pattern. Diamond might work even better. I know some of the FC saw blades are diamond.
I use a jig saw with a Remington "Remgrit" blade. These are only a couple of bucks and they will last 3-4 holes before the FC eats them up. Don't try to plunge cut with them though, you need to drill a starter hole. Carbide-tipped hole saws are available up to 4" diameter - if you want an absolutely perfect cut - but they cost $20-$40
