Re-furbished Dewalt tools to anyone that has an answer (LOL)
Question : What is the BEST way to cut an I-JOIST to length ??? I,m asking about the saw table falling into the recess . We used some scrap as a filler , is there any type of insert (jig type tool ) that is available for this purpose ?
Thanks !

Are you kidding? Every construction print rag I know has shown how to make a jig for doing this. By the time you have made the jig, your cutter may have them all whacked, however. I watched an Indiana Amishman do all of mine (the first time I used them) by guiding the edge of the sawtable with his thumb. You really just need to bridge it across a small distance, before the table gets to the opposite flange, after leaving the near flange.
yeah, scrap will do, to fill in, hold the table up. U sually, I just cut the dang thing, pick up the front of the saw when you get to the other end.
