The other suggestions here are true. If you have to work with other tools than you would like, hopefully you’ll have at hand as fine a tooth blade as you can afford or find (for cutting plywood for example)? As far as drilling, go with a small bit as a pilot hole, don’t push it, let the drill and the bit do the work and work your way up to the desired hole size. In any case, leave the paper on, measure twice and cut once and don’t forget the goggles, plexi shrapnel hurts. Its worked for me, hope it helps.

need to cut some plexiglass and put some holes in it. ideas ?
*Drill with a bradpoint bit.
*Invest in a plexi blade; the difference in the cut and the shrapnel when cutting is amazing.
*How much plexi ? Straight cuts or curved as well ? Is this a big project, or small ?I do it by hand, and use a razor saw. If you are going to go with a power saw, it would behoove you to go with the plexi blade as Adrian suggests. Leave the paper on the plastic until you are positive the cut and fit is right. There are drill bits available especialy for plastic. They cost no more than regular drill bits, and the difference in results is worth it. After the hole is drilled you can use a regular countersink if you want to set the screws back in. Again, it is best to leave the paper on until you are sure you are finished with all the holes.

*Ai longtime ago I was putting some holes in plexiglass and I was told (by I know not who) to drill the holes by running the drill backwards. "The bit takes a smaller bite that way"I don't know how much sense that makes, but it worked ok.Rich Beckman
