I’m building some coldframes and I’ve been offerred several very large sheets of 1/4″ wire re-inforced glass. My problem is that while I’ve cut lots of regular glass, I’ve never cut the wire glass and I don’t know if it’s basically the same, or is special equipment required. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

damn near impossible. score it, snap it, break off the waste with a pliers, cut wire...have fun.

Score it, break it, then use thin cutting wheel in dremel to cut the wires...

good additional idea..when I had to do it we werent allowed dremels..jail has funny rules {G}
seriously, I had to cut some ONCE at an isolated site w/o power (recycled glass some knucklehead got for free, in steel frames)..once the waste was fractured well, diagonal cutters snipped the chickenwire well.

A dremel with the thinnest cutoff wheel also works for tempered glass. But you have to cut all the way through with the tool.
Half from one side, then finish from the other side.
Slooooooow. Very careful. The slightest snag can be reason for shattering.
Keep the glass on felt, while cutting....
Still have to be veeeeery carefull until you get the whole cut edge ground or sanded smooth, rounded-over.
Not recommended unless you have a lot of FREE glass sitting around to play with.
