I have a covered but not enclosed wood deck made out of tongue and groove Marinian Pine. It was stained last year with cuprinol. The stain is weathered off in spots and the wood is showing signs of deterioration already (some staining ans softness). Since it is tongue and groove, water (and ice in the winter) will sit on it in spots even though it does have some pitch to it.I plan to powerwash and belt sand this finish down. I would like input on what type of finish you recommend. I do not want to resort to painting if I don’t have to, as I want to maintain the natural wood look. I appreciate your input.

Use a stain that is oil-based (linseed oil), and which contains a UV inhibitor.
And plan to do that each year.
