Good Day
I am considering the purchase of Decktools software for designing decks. I was given an impressive on line demo today by the sales rep. The package generates plans, elevations, 3-d renderings, and a detailed cost list which updates as you make changes to the plans in size or materials in use. Quite impressive. And not cheap. $1500. So before I leap, I am putting out some feelers to see who has the tool and has used it to close sales.

Sorry. Here: http://www.decktools.com/default.aspx
Why do you want to buy the software? As a marketing tool for potential customers? To help you design descks? Is deck building your main sopurce of income? If not, it would take a lot of decks to cover the investment.

Decks are so easy to draw I think that spending 1500 on software is a waist of money. If you feel you need a cad program there's some out there that are only a couple of hundred and can do everything you need and more. There's also free programs on the web.
If your looking to "close the deal" save the 1500 and charge less for the deck.
