My exterior second floor and gables will be red cedar shingles. While I’ve applied acres of these I’ve never put in a design. I’d like two diamonds on my back wall. Can anyone tell me where I can find instuctional info on this?
Thanks
Roy

Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.

Didn't FHB do an article on this about a year ago?
yes FHB did have an extensive how to article, the chap used contrasting shigles to make a goose/duck/some kind of fowl. It was last year or early this year.

Perfection and others have precut pattern pieces and literaturer about how to...
Or you can get out the tablesaw and rip to consistant sizing and then put the arrow mitres on the butts with a sliding gig.
Save the off rips for shims on the next job. Wioth bundles of crappy shims going for $25, I never throw away shingle rips.
here's a pic of one.. the diamond changes with the number, the width of each shingle & the course exposure....lay it out full scale until you like it.. these are on 5" courses with i think 5" wide shingles
