Just curious. Purchased a Delta kitchen faucet at HD today. . basic single handle design, with out a sprayer. I’m used to seeing the faucets with the copper tubing and brass fittings that the supply lines (purchased separately) connect too. Now it appears that they have replaced the copper tubing with extra long PEX tubing with an integrated 3/8″ supply nut that connects directly to the angle stop without the need for supply lines.
The installation instructions and info on the carton was espousing the benefits of this set up over the “old” way of copper tubing, etc. It connected up just fine and has not leaked yet.
Anyone have any experience with this design? Should I be concerned with the PEX tubing about 10 – 20 years down the road when repairs might be needed to the innards of the faucet?
Thanks!

One less connection... one less place to leak. I think it's a great idea and about time.
The Moen I just replaced used stainless steel braided cable, but either one, PEX or cable should be fine.

I don't think they are bulding faucets to last that long.
High end ones sure. But most faucets aren't.
I wouldn't worry about it.

DonCanDo and Popawheelie,Thanks. I've heard great things about PEX on this forum, but have never seen it used in this sort of application. I think you are right about the faucet not lasting 10 years. . ., but for $68.00 I'd expect it to. . .Thanks again,Tark
I do some work on rentals and the owner just changes out the faucets.
People like to pick them out and have something new.
Fixing a faucet is just not as fun.
I did ask him to start standardizing them so i can stock parts.
I'm not sure if he will. He did so far with the toilets. "There are three kinds of men: The one that learns by reading, the few who learn by observation and the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves."Will Rogers
The faucet is for an apartment too. I normally do change them out, as I'll probably do when this faucet starts to leaks. Coincidentally, the 20+ year old Delta kitchen faucet at my Mom's house started to leak the other day. I was prepared to replace it if necessary, but the faucet came apart easily and after installing the basic Delta repair kit, the faucet works like a champ.
