Gutting and re-doing two KOA Campground shower rooms, walls and cielings. Tired of cleaning mold out of grout on tiles; hate painting; Questions: What is the surface texture like on Dens Shield? Is it rough (i.e. would it attract and hold mold and be hard to clean?) Can it stand alone or must you cover it with something else, like tile, etc.? Could you get away with just painting it? What color is it? How do you patch the seams? Do you screw it up, glue it up or what? If screwing it up, would the holes compromise the water proof nature of the board? Thanks.

DensShield is a tile backer and not suitable as a stand alone product. FRP (Fiberglass reinforced panel) is a stand alone product installed over solid backing that might be suitable for this application.
*Ditto to Mike's comments. FRP would be best way to go - it's the stuff you see in commercial bathrooms and even kitchens sometimes. You can hose it down with bleach if you want, walls and ceilings. Expensive, though.
