Does anyone have any creative ideas about using the 5000 school desktops that I might have to be rid of? I’m thinking that someone that creates arts and crafts and sells them at shows might be able to use the massive amount of quality raw stock that is sitting in the school right now.
Here’s a pic showing the volume that I’m trying to sell/move/give away.

If you find a use for the desk tops, you still have to throw away the rest of each desk, and that seems a shame. I wonder if you could find a home for the desks as desks? There are schools in third-world countries which could use them. Maybe Mexico? You might try do-gooder organizations like Habitat for Humanity for leads.
Blue-eyed,
Check into towns in Mississippi. Many are still struggling to come back from Katrina. You may even be able to get a shipping company to donate the shipping.

We haven't ruled out donating the contents to someone. I'm finding out today about the status of the stuff.

Do you want to doante some of the marble bathroom partitons to a good cause? Or maybe the slate blackboards?
"When asked if you can do something, tell'em "Why certainly I can", then get busy and find a way to do it." T. Roosevelt
We don't have any marble partitions but we do have some very old chalkboards.
At this point we don't know what the final redevelopment will be so we won't be getting rid of artifacts such as the chalkboards until a final resolution is made. We do know that we don't need 5000 desks as artifacts though!

hey Blue,
did you get my email?

I'm thinking local Christian School, Private School, maybe the Headstart Program.

Pete, I didn't receive any email from you.
I did get one from someone else so I know the email feature from this site is working.
send your email to accjimallen @ comcast .net.
That email will be working for the next week or so, but I'm moving up to Oscoda and will soon have new email addresses.
