Hi there.
Im in the market for a sliding compound miter saw & would like some advise.
I have ordered the Makita 10″ dual bevel SCMS but I can try it out & return it if Im not happy with it. I can also have the 12″ Makita or the Dewalt 12″ both of which bevel both ways aswell. THe difference in price is about $200-300.
Price isnt really a big deal because a customer is buying it for me for some work I did at his house. My main concern is which of the 3 is the best.
I have read MANY good things about the Makita 10″ (slider that bevels both ways.. not sure of the model number) & the 12″ Makita aswell but is it worth the extra money for the 12″?? & the blades.. geesh.. Expensive compared to the 10″ & not as much variety.
I would like to get peoples opinions on the 3 saws.
Im pretty sure I wouldnt like the Dewalt saw just because of the shear weight of the beast. Not sure what the 12″ Makita weighs but Im trying to focus on trim work so mabey the 10″ is enough. I build quite a few decks aswell so I would like to cut 4×4’s. Can the 10″ do that?
I was looking on the JLC website & their test shows the 12″ makita to be the most accurate. Like to get your opions about them.
Thanks.
