In my last question about impact drills. I leaened a lot. Thank you all. I already have Dewalt 18V. 9 tool set. Probably my choice is to buy the DW056 impact driver.
My question is with the batteries.I purchased a new batery at Home depot DC9096-XRP- my older batteries number is DW9096 and it also has XR+ Nicd. Anyone knows the difference? I ask Dewalt and a bunch of people and they don’t know.
I do a lot of work around the house and own quite a few tools. But I get confused with all these model numbers. Any batteries wisdom out there? Thanks

The XRP should fit just fine -- they stand taller than the XR and the original batteries, but my different ones going back 10 years are all interchangeable. The XRP was advertised as having more torque and last longer than the earlier versions. I guess maybe they do, I never pay attention. Save your receipt, I think the package mentions something about a 2 or 3 year warranty.
