I’m trying to replace rotten 1″x 4″ diagonal cross boards on my back porch. The assembled cross is inside a rectangle that measures 31 1/4″ high by 41 3/16″ wide. Does anyone know how to make the cross so it is both centered and fits in the area that is formed by 4×4 vertical posts and a horizontal 2×4?

Plot it out on a pc of plywood or frig cardboard or floor paper.
Figure the angles and dimensions and you’ve got a pretty accurate template.
Thanks Calvin. A full size drawing or template would be great and along with a digital bevel gauge should give me a pretty accurate schematic.
Before assembly, seal the cut ends. There’s a lot of water catchers involved there.
