OK, dumb question coming up. On a circular saw blade, how to I knock out the diamond in the middle of the blade so it fits into my Skilsaw?

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

Don't knock it out - can bend the blade. I twist it out with Channelocks.

I had you figured for a guy with a special arbor press.... the McBlade Press, with a custom-made diamond-shaped ram.... take those bad boys out surgically.
LOL!
You honor me with your sarcasm!
No, really!
Forrest
No sarcasm whatsoever, you just seem like a guy who DOES stuff.
Yeah, and somehow I forgot to mention -- shaped charges.

Center the blade over an opening slightly larger than the knockout, like a pipe coupling, then smack the diamond with a punch.
Yeah, never done it with a blade, but for similar stuff I place the object over a suitable sized hole and work on it with a drift punch, starting in a narrow corner. Ideally the "hole" (eg, a 1.5" galv pipe coupler) should contact only the center area of the blade, so that no damage is done to the teeth.
I figured out how to do it with the carpentry tools I had on my tool belt.
Put the blade on a piece of wood like a 2 X4.
Take you nailset ( I always carry one ) and hit it with your hammer.
I start at the skinny corner of the knock-out and work my way around.
Another thing. When you buy blades ( on sale )knock them all out before you put them away. I have my saw in a box with extra blades, blade wrench, and rip guide ready to go.
Ditto dat.
except for the saw box part(|:>)SamT

The box works great. All my blades and acceseries are in it. I put cardboard pieces between the blades I don't want dulled or chiped.
I bend part of the guard so a carpenters pencil fits just right. That way, when you need your pencil you take it back out.
You put a false bottom in it so the saw just sits on the base. You can even wax up the false bottom with paraiffin so your saw base gets waxed when you put it away.
I'd like to get a good cordless for small stuff. The new batteries should be pretty good. Are they ion?
Buy a sidewinder, and leave the knockouts in the blades.
Oh man!!!
here we go !!!I don't Know what I am doing
But
I am VERY good at it!!
just thought I'd work up a little action on a Sunday night

Must be from Joisey...
Heh heh heh
I'm with Shep.
I once loaned a $50 diamond blade to this guy to use in his saw for demo on the same job we were on. His was a worm with the knock out unbeknown to me, so he just goes ahead and knocks it out and throws the knockout away, used the blade and promptly put the blade back in my truck where he got it. No problem 'till I went to use the blade again (by that time the guy had moved). I tried fitting various diamonds back in and they just wouldn't go. I probably would have done it if I had more patience, but at the time I was really burned up.
No you can't use my f&*in' tools!!.
Sorry if I hijacked a bit but those who borrow and break and don't replace should be shot.
To answer your question, use pliers.
Once I realized I was making too much out of it all, I opened my vice a little wider than the knockout and used a long socket a little smaller than the knockout. With a couple of light taps, poof! The tweaking of the blade was my concern.
Thanx all!
