Anyone happen to have any suggestions for a source of apparently discontinued ceramic tile? I’m trying to match an area that has 2 3/8″ sq glossy white tiles…

Best I can do is bump the post and lead us in a round of chanting to the ceramic lords of the Yesterworld

Paul -
STOP!!! Before you rip the entire floor, take up one tile (or most of one) and take it to a real tile supplier (not a big box). In many cases, the pattern on the back of the tile is unique to the manufacturer and a good tile person can look at the pattern and tell you who made it. Then, with a bit of luck, you can get replacements.
I had a similar situation this summer with some 20 yr old backsplash tiles. I took one to the biggest tile place around here and one of the guys glanced at the back and told me that it had been made by one of their competitors - and gave me directions to their store. When I got there, the counter guy said "Yeah, that's ours and we still make them. How many do you need". Within an hour, the replacements were installed - lol.
LOL... Actually I called everyone around here and no joy. The size (2 3/8 or 60mm) was the killer... new floor is in but thanks for the suggestion.

Find the oldest tile house in the area and see what they have stored in the back of the warehouse.
Until fairly recently, there was a supplier here that had been in business since tile was first invented and they NEVER threw anything away. You just had to dedicate some serious time searching for what you wanted in the dimly lit and extremely dusty tile graveyard.
I know exactly where you can get them, as many as you want, but you're not going to like the answer.
I worked for an artist who did high-end relief sculptures on commission. At the time her project was a commissioned set of benches for a New Mexico town. 15 historic photos were provided for making 3D tile carvings to inlay in the back of a cedar bench, of her design--for $10,000 each. Not bad for a months work.
As a filler to pay the bills between big jobs, she also did all sorts of custom work with ceramics of all kinds.
A broken vase could be analysised, tested, patched, refired and returned to new condition. Half artist half scientist. Amazing.
When local historic preservation projects need replacement tiles they call her and for about $50 a tile she will reproduce just about anything you want. Carved or molded tiles are extra, as are custom matched colors.
2-3/8" glossy white tiles are probably only around $30 each with a $10/per tile color match charge. :-)
