I’ve gutted the kitchen on the modest flip house I’ve been working on for several months. All that remains is the kitchen, carpet, and gravel for the driveway.
I’m working with a tight wall space in the kitchen, and I’m considering placing the dishwasher tight against the drywall on one side. Bad
idea ? There might be room for a piece of luaun or something between the unit and the wall, but no room for a spacer of any kind.
This is a modest 60’s style ranch; nothing very special.
I guess I’m most worried about the steam, but most of that vents out the top front.
Bad timing – I bought two flip houses last April, did okay on the first and sold it in October, but everything’s gone South since I started on the second one, and our Cooper Tire & Rubber plant here is closing, putting 2,100 people out of work. A real blow to the local economy.

I'd also be concerned that if this gets even slightly out of alignment, the door scrapes an arc on the wall as it opens Laminate on teh wall extending out a couple feet in front of the countertop down there.

Thanks, Paul. I think I've talked myself out of this. I have a 78 inch wall, so I was tempted to do a 30" sink base, 24" to the left for the D/W and a 24" cab to the right. But I think I'll stick w/ the 30" sink base and do a 18" drawer unit to the right, and I'll have 6" to play with for some trim strips.
Have a great day ! We're looking for a high of 63 degrees here today, South Georgia.
