Noticed that the dishwasher had a pool of greywater in it AFTER running a load. This is not right. Tried running another load and first drain is going real slow. Pump is trying but little water is coming out. Pump blocked? Pull the basket and lower interior parts, start bailing. There’s a cup in the bottom of the floor, about the size of your hand, oriented vertically, and in the bottom of that cup is..something…. fish around… and pull out:
… which was, along with a pile of crud, making an effective dam to block the water exiting into the 5/8″ outlet hole to the pump. Also, I found some really nasty black gunk hiding under the first-filter screen in the bottom of the dishwasher. And there’s this pink stuff down there inside some of the parts, too. Kinda makes you wonder how clean those dishes really are.

Well, that bag tie looks really clean.
After soaking in soapy water overnight, it better.
I rip mine apart every 3-6 months. You wouldn't believe the crud that hides in, under and around that lower arm/pump housing.
I saw that crud today. Black, gelatinous crud jammed under the top of the large-particle screen. Ewww!
Didja' find the rest of the bag somewhere? That might hold the drain up also. Guess the bread already dissolved.
Just a thought......:)

That's why after a meal it's best to let the dog lick the dishes clean, then they go right back in the cabinet.
A known nasty is always less worrisome than an unknown nasty.
