I am building my own home and want to know if i “have to” install a drain line vent throught the roof. I will be instaling studer valves in all the sink drains and shower drain line. I understand that the drain line vent is usaly used to ensure that P traps mantain there water level to ensure no septic gas escapes into the house. My question is, does the house have to have a drain line vent for any other reson (ie septic gas build up). This house is on an arobic septic system. Also is out in the country on 27 acres and realy is not any “building inspector” other than my own high standards. Any advice on this and or studor valves would be appreciate.

Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.
