The title says it all. I have a very small section to insulate, with irregular stud spacing, wiring, the whole ball of wax. The rest of the house is done with blown in batt (fiberglass), but that takes a truck and two people.
And yeah, I could use the pink stuff, I suppose.

The kits are called "froth paks". Put that into a search engine (google.com, for example) and you'll get a lot of info. Since we used a lot of polyurethane foam on our house, I checked these out for some small scale touch-up. Was disappointed. Very expensive. Don't spray anywhere close to as nice as a real foam righ does. But with the minimum fee from my foam guy being $400, there might be cases where they are better. I just didn't find one.
*I use the froth-paks all the time for air sealing work. They cost just under $400 for 60 pound kits (2 cylinders A and B).They are very cost effective when considering the time they save that would otherwise be used to meticulously cut some rigid material to fit an irregular space to construct a continuous air barrier. Just spray it and on to the next job.-Rob
*Thanks for the information.Rob: does the stuff come out like rapidly expanding toothpaste (like that stuff you get in cans), or is it a spray?
*Toothpaste inna can? Rob,what brand(s) are you using & what density is it rated? Joe H
*The one I used was density 1.7, and it came out slightly better than foam-in-a-can. Not nearly as good as from a pro foam rig, though. I think mine gave coverage equiv to 120 board ft for the $400. Once you start, it's not easy to stop--cleanup can be nasty. I would have been better off with the foam contractor charging his minimum and giving me 2.0+ density. On the other hand, awfully convenient to have the froth pak available for when _you're_ ready to do the work.
*Try searching for Enerfoam or NICOR, they have some good ones for less than 400 bucks. Ian
