In this months JLC has a picture of a guy pointing a nail gun at some trim, and pointed right at his chest
guess he has never had a misfire
sometimes I look through the magazines, FHB as well, and notice OSHA and just general safety violations. Fortunately I dont think OSHA does, or some of our contributors to the magazines would get unwelcome visits, with even photgraphic evidence
I remeber seeing a video on roof framing, where a guy was holding 2-2xs near his chest and shooting into them, toward himself with a 16d shooter, either pretty trusting or a statistic now
so maybe a word of advice for contributors, when screening your pictures, make sure they dont show a violation too.

remember the people at JLC are professinals, at least that what they tell you.
I've learned to keep an eye out when someone near me is using a nailgun too--guy I work with shot a nail right through a board and it whizzed by my head. Another time he forgot to take his finger off the trigger and bounced one off a concrete patio and it hit my hand. Sort of like defensive driving.
Man - at least with a screwgun you don't risk putting a nail though someones chest. Well, at least not with out a lot of patience and liquor.
On a normal gig, how often do you have a nailgun make an unschedualed projectile launch like this?

believe it or not, I have an equal count on nailing myuself by hand, nailing myself with a gun. stapling myself, and screwing myself. ( yeah, I know - I have a gift for words)Twice each

Had a nail from my Paslode framer miss it's intended target on the other side of a 2x6 and break my Swanson speed square. That clued me in. Still have the square as a reminder.
