I have started a small home Improvement business that a do part tine 1-4 jobs a month depending on their size. I’m in the air force full time that my friends call the chair force because of how little I work rich allows me to run this business. live in NJ and they don’t have a license. word of mouth has been my only advertising and I stay as busy as I can be. I can retire in 4 years and would like to turn this into a full time business. I have a slew of questions and I’m learning alot just from reading this form. first off I would like to know how I can make this business official. Now I deal only in cash and pay no taxes (maybe I shouldn’t say that too loud ) and I don’t have insurance Most of my jobs are small putting up closet doors or track lighting re finishing basements. but if something were to go wrong now I would be sunk. I work alone most of the time and if someone does help its another chair force guy who I pay cash. So as you can tell I am the hack you often talk about in the different threads. My customers are happy and I have never left anyone dissatisfied. I try to make $250 a day some jobs work out more some less but I have been averaging $250. Should I incorperate or be a soll priator ,can I get part time inshurance, should I hire an accountant now to set every thing up. If I knew how to do it right and leagle I would. any help would be apprecated. don’t want to be a hack. Adam
