I’m in the process of replacing 5 units that are 10 year old peachtree units, because they are falling apart. Has anyone else had a problem with these units self destructing?
Anyway…….
The real problem is the house has settled and the bricks stayed put, so now the height of the rough opening is too small. With lots of sawzall and portaplane action I can get the new units to fit. So what can a new home builder do to stop this from happening down the road?

I`m not quite sure I understand your post....
The "units" you mention are doors?
The brick what stayed put? Patio? Stoop?Siding?
Can you be a bit more specific?

Yes they are doors.
As the framing shrank and settled inside, the bricks remained the same so when the new doors are now set on the brick sill they won't clear the header.
