Everyone,
I have a sump pit in my basement which has no pump. The only water currently entering the pit is discharge from a water softener. I want to put a pump in the sump pit. In addition, we’re remodeling the kitchen and need a wash-up sink. Rather than use two pumps, I’d like to drain the washup sink into the sump pit. No toilet, no shower or washing machine. Just a wash up sink for paint rollers, etc. The alternatives are an above ground pump kit or a direct pump that attaches directly under to the sink (with no reservior). Any suggestions/comments on which setup is preferable would be appreciated.
Venting is an issue because there are no other sinks/toilets in the basement. As a practical matter, an air admittance valve is my only option.
Thanks.

Are you sure a urinal wouldn't be a good idea in the workshop too?
Just a thought.

In most communities it would be illegal to wash basin water or gray water into our sub pump for you basement. It needs to be connected to your waste line and go out in the city sewer or in to your septic tank
Thanks. I plan on hooking the pump into the sewer line. The only water passing through would be the water softener and sink - there is no groundwater or rainwater.
