Dewalt,
More power and better feel.

*Anybody have thoughts on installing Hardiplank over Structural Insualted Panels? I've been told double-nailing every 8" (top and bottom) is the only way - but that's a lot of work and is esthetically challenged.
*richard, you'll get a lot better results if you start your own discussion on the main board.I don't know the answer to this. I've been trying to find out if there is a way to attach hardiplank to icf's--the ones I use have metal flanges 12" on center, but so far most people think I'd have to screw on furring strips first, which may or may not be the case for you too.ron: I have a rotozip, and seriously, the only thing it is good at is drywall. It is no good on wood at all. Unless you intend to burn it, and break off bits. What do you want to use it for?
*Like M.D. said. If you're not a rocker, save your money. I bought a rotozip 'cause it looked like it would do many things well. The only thing it has really done for me was cut holes in hardieplank. Use the 1/4" carbide bit and it works O.K., but the only thing I can see it being truly useful for is drywall.
*Thanks guys I got the regular dremel cuz i wanted it for wood. i didnt know if the rotzip type was any good for wood. Also very occasional use on plaster the old homestead dont have drywall.
*Ron-the dewalt is a good tool, dispite my dislike of the brand
*We have a roto-zip on the job AND a DeWalt. DeWalt is by far the much better of the two. I rarely use my sabre saw any more. Don't even carry it in the truck.
*I don't get this DeWalt bashing. I have several dw drills and they stand up to a beating. The jigsaw works well too.
*My wife bought the Rotozip Revolution Combo for me. Came with a cirle cutting attacment and a grinder head, plus bits and wheels. Turned out to be the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned. I had to return it after using it 4 times. The fan in the lower part of it disenegrated and was throwing pieces of plastic everywhere. Home Cheapo takes it back and gives me a new one. I get the new one to the jobsite, take it out of the box to put a bit in it and the motor is locked up. It went back and I got the Dewalt. It also has a cirle cutter and a good storage case. It works fine, feels like it has more power, and is $80.00 cheaper than the Rotozip.
*thanks guys you answered a question I also had about which one to buy, I didn't know that the Dewalt also had a circle cutting attachment. I haven't had any problem with Dewalt. I would like to know however, if any one has used one of the new three speed dewalt's and how they work.
