Wow, I had no idea there were so many BTers with well experience.
Ours is 225′ deep producing 8 gpm, about 5 years old, with a Meyers 1hp submersible. How long does this gear last and what’s the weakest link in the chain?
I dread the day I have to pull that sucker up outa the hole. I’ll have to cut a hole in the roof and hire a crane truck. Anyone ever pull a deep pump? How’s it done?
Scott.

Its pretty easy when its not UNDER the house.
I take one of those wheels that holds big cable likethe power comapany uses. About 6 feet diameter. The wheel it self is about 4 feet that holds the cable. I nail a two by four on both sides of the wheel after its set next to the well.
I pull all of mine out over that wheel with an atv, 4wld. Pretty easy.

Or , build your pumphuse with a tower and a permanently installed winch. Winch pix later today if you would like.
I need to pull a pipe string as prefer a jet pump at 60 ft vs submersible..
Got about 10 years outta the bearings for the above ground pump, replace whenstarts making noise. A submersible you can't tell by sound if a bearing going bad.

Was pulling a pump out of a well with a forklift. It was going pretty good, undoing the 1.25" pipe at every coupling and coiling the wire on the ground. Had about 100 feet of pipe out when one of the joints snapped. the pump and pipe took off, had anyone been standing in that pile of wire , well you can imagine. A few seconds later the pump came to the end of the well. Called the pump guy and he fished it out. Guess its not all that uncommon.
