Hello all, and a thank you to everyone in who contributes their experience and know how for us who need it.
I am currently getting ready to roof a gazebo. I bought some drip edge to put on it, and found that it was a pain to get the corners to look pretty. so i went out and bought some gutter apron, mucho betta cutting and pretty: however my boss raised a concern about this gutter apron not having the lip that drip edge does( this lip along with the shingles held over the edge get water that much farther away from the house(or into the gutter)). I think the gutter apron with the shingles held over the edge by 3/8-1/2 should be good. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance for everyone’s help.

gutter apron ? i'm assuming the one that looks like a "j"..
the other kind actually wraps up on the and hangs down into a "j"
so if it's the first.. what did you do ... put it on upside down and shove it up agains the botom of the roof shingle ?... if so.. your boss is right .. cpillary action is going to pull the water behind the "j"
most gutter apron is designed for the top to go behind the drip edge
the real deal on drip edge is developing a technique for cutting it and bending it at corners... any corner, 90... 45... 30... 22.. whatever..one piece corners or two piece corners

hey mike- you right the fight is cutting the drip, but when cutting the guuter apron it was much easier. the gutter apron is not like a "j". wish i could diagram it. looks like a drip cap for windows and doors only that it fits the anle of the roof. as far as the drip edge goes, i can make it work, using just like i would on a normal roof, was just trying this gutter apron out as a possible approach. what ive seen alot in the past is guys use drip edge on the rakes, and for a steep roof at the eaves the use gutter apron. right or wrong ive seen it done before. well hope that clears it up at least a little. thanks for you help.
