what would be the minimum driveway space required for backing out of a 2 car garage, assuming a large auto, suv (not a hummer) and one that does not require several backing and turning maneuvers?

You're not happy with the answers you got last time? :)

I didn't answer last time because it was so well answered already! I aim for thirty feet as a the min radius but sometimes 18' can work for small cars backing. A car in reverse can gain in a smaller space.
Welcome to the Taunton University of Knowledge FHB Campus at Breaktime. where ... Excellence is its own reward!
mine is 16 feet wide
IMHO get cones plastic trash cans etc and see what works best for you. See many ex in public buildings where there is not enough (our own library drop off window!!)
Now there's a practical answer. Thank you kindly.
thank you and others out there for the answers. Actually went to a friends house and marked and measured with cones. To pull in the garage door (9ft) in a single turn without making it too close and without backing up and going forward, it took a driveway width of 25 ft. driving a Lincloln Mark IV.
A 4x4 Chevy extended cab full bed pickup could not make it out in one backing motion.
"Minimum" is 18'.
I've been going through the same thing in my mind as you and have done extensive research on this due to troubles I'm having with the Historic society and dollars and cents.
With my "extended" van 18' is a struggle. If I needed a real truck back there I'd be sunk so consider all issues that may arise because its a costly proposition....driveways.
BE well
