Due to a plethora of rain and a poorly designed porch ( which is in the process of being corrected, see construction tech forum)a crawlspace is saturated.to the depth of at least 3ft. on an inside corner. This i know because on the finished side of the basement black ugly nasty mold was having a large city built outlining the first and worst of water infiltration. The crawlspace is partialy below grade going to almost walk out level with one vent the size of a concrete block. There is not a mold problem inside the space. Not even musty,
The access is on the inside in a mud room and is 18inx20in. The finished basement wall has been striped to the concrete.Since water is migrating through the poured concrete wall which on the crawlspace side has that black waterprofing stuff on. I have a dehumidifier connected to the HVAC system and turned to 45% but how do I dry out the crawlspace? It is about 22ft long 5ft wide a dirt foor with a 1-1.5 ft deep trench down the middle. There are some areas of black plactic which is what i was checking back in Nov. to see if it needed replaced and discovered the mud in the area of the porch inside corner. At that time the rest of space was dry. Not until all the rain this spring did the whole space became wet. I would like to refinish the wall inside bacement but want crawlspace dry first.
so how do i dry it out?
Respectfully,wbs

If you don't want to dig a pit and install a pump you'll probably have to make do with a fan (or two). Note that you'll need at least two vents, one in and one out.
Water Needs A place To Go
Your first step is to give the water another place to go. This usually means french drains around the house, intercepting ground water and sending it downhill.
You can suppliment this with a small sump and pump.
Finally, you need to pump lots of fresh air into the space, and remove the moist air.
