Got the dw hung in my basement project. Thanks to those who offered suggestions on how to get the stuff in!
I’m planning on hiring out the finishing. How is this work normally quoted? Per sq. ft. of space? Sq. ft. of wall/ceiling? Being a basement it has the usual duct boxes and such. Also two bump-outs with 45 degree walls.
Any other tips on getting good quotes and hiring good work appreciated!
TIA

Rob, If you went to the trouble of getting the dy in the house why note try to do it yourself. Just a though, Sign: Save a penny.
I think a lot of Dwallers work sq ft of wall. but watching the forums here, the price varies a lot in different areas. Should be slightly higher than hanging. If it is sq ft, it can also be looked at by the sheet, assuming a standard size. ex 25/ sheet hang and finish, which I think they mean 8ft sheets, or 32sqft.

As I mentioned in my delivery question thread... I can finish drywall, I have done it before, I can even do a decent job and I have the tools. Trouble is, I don't have the time and I (dw) don't want the house in limbo for the months of weekends and evenings it would take me to do it.
I am planning on using the area under the stairs to teach my ten year old the basics of finishing. He helped my hang in there and I'm planning on doing the higher areas and just turn him loose on the lower areas. Should be a good experience for him. Then he can paint it however he likes as it will be his secret play area.Rob

I paid some guys $200 to do tape and mud my 8x12 front porch that I recently made into finished space. I hung the drywall and then they came in and did their thing. They were doing the drywall in the basement at the time.
