I’d like to save wear and tear on my cordless impact driver…Can you use a corded drywall gun to shoot decking screws into PTreated? Drywall screw-gun probably spins to fast I think…
Thanks,
Dave

I normally use a cordless impact driver to spot a few screws to align the plank, then go back and screw down with a corded drill. I have an older Milwaukee magnum drill pretty much dedicated to that purpose. Takes a little practice to set the screws at a consistent depth, but cordless tools (and their batteries) are too expensive to use as a production tool, IMO.
I'd agree that a DW gun would not be the best option. On Trex decking, I use Trapeze screws (square drive) and they best go in at a lower RPM.
Thanks guys, well, it looks like another day, another tool...
There are powered "decking guns". Basically slower speed DW guns.
Not sure of the exact name, but I have a Dewalt one.
And now you can get the autofeed ones with extension so it is all standup work.
Drywall screws use a #2 phillips drive bit. Deck screws need a slightly different bit. It's close to a #2 phillips, but not quite.
