Hi-
Plunged head first into my own small basement remodel and need some advice on taping sheetrock. I have done some taping and mudding (mainly with fiberglass tape), with very good results, and am planning to use rounded steel corners on some areas in the basement over door openings and the like. I also would like to use steel inside corners at the ceilings, and my question concerns the type of corners I have. Both of these corners are steel with a paper tape stuck to each side of the corner piece. What is the best way to hold these corners in place on the wall when I begin mudding? Staples???
Thanks for the advice…

Mud up your corners with Joint compound to hold it in place, then squeeze it out with a 5" or 6" taping knife
*I always use white vinyl corner bead, and I staple it in place. paper always seems to blister and pop over doors and windows. the nice thing about the white vinyl besides the fact that it's self supporting is that paint stick to it better than metal corner bead and if you do ding the corner, it's white anyway.
*Rounded steel corners ? Steel inside corners ? Are you talking about bullnose corners ? (a corner with about a 1" radius ) Why would you want a steel reinforced inside corner ?
*I think he was talking about the paper tape with two metal strips in the center, I don't bother with it, paper tape in the corner seams hold up pretty well as long as the house isn't moving.
*Thanks for the info- the rounded steel outside corner I refer to is the bullnose, the thought on the steel inside corner is that it makes a very straight corner at the ceiling, which I have found that it does.-B
