Another question, have some drywall primer left over, bought at lowes called 1st step latex. Want to reprime the doors and frames, can I use the drywall primer? I know there is some primer that can be used on drywall or wood.

To prevent moisture buildup and improve performance, install a continuous air barrier—such as drywall or specialized membranes—under tongue-and-groove boards or other interior wall paneling.

I think PVA primer is ok on bare wood, but it's not as good as a primer made specifically for that. Don't use PVA on non-porous surfaces like already painted stuff, plastics, metals, etc.

cheers. Ill buy.
good point but another reason for asking about if it would be okay is that I was priming some patches around the door and by accident end up with some on the door so I spread it out, this was a few days ago and its bonding real well, by the way these are the six panel hollow core doors from lowes, not sure if that makes a diff.

Actually its not much good for anything except priming drywall.
If you have used it you must have some kind of feeling that its next to nothing . No hiding . I think it would be a wate of time unless you were spraying every thing at once .
