Client has asked me to redo her bathroom after finally having some structural problems fixed in her 30 yr. old house.Structural engineers came in and recommended adding some new sleeper beams in basement which was done. The tile job in the bath floor and walls is cracked due to the old problem and the fix.Thers a 2-3″ mud bed under the floor tile and Im wondering if putting durorock over it would isolate the new tile work from the old cracks. Its a very fancy house and we’d hate to blast out the mud bed(and who knows what under and around it) and carry all that heavy mess down her Gone With the Wind staircase.Shes okay with the added ht of the durorock.
Does this sound feasible? And how would u install the durorock?

Sorry, I don't have a link, but you need a crack isolation membrane. Try a search here, or over at JLC.
look at Ditra.
pricey materials ... but for a bath ... probably not too bad ...
and ... can be a labor saver.
