Don’t mean to sound whiny or cranky but now that I’m old enough to need reading glasses for every mark and cut I make I can’t keep the fine dust off my cheap plastic readers. (In the workshop that is).Anybody have any tricks or products?

With time you'll also get used to seeing past dust and even scratches.

Throw the glasses away and start marking with a thick sharpie.
Oh, okay...what Sphere said.
I'm going blind, too. I HATE these cheaters.

Thanks, I'll try the dryer sheets cause we probably have them. I'm somewhat apprehensive about what I might see if I see clearly. Hopefully my skills are being at least maintained.
Are your glasses prescription or store bought? I have been wearing reading glasses now for about 3 years and have not had to go past 1.75 strength. I hate having to use the things but I simply can't read without them (large print yes).
Anyhow my wife uses the professional cleaner stuff, comes in a spritz bottle. Lasts a long time and works great.
They are cheap plastic readers, probably 1.75. What type of spray cleaner? Glasses cleaner. Glass cleaner. I just tried the dryer sheet but it left a cloudy film that I then kind of rubbed off with thumb and finger . Haven't made much dust yet this morning (Installing hinges) so I can't determine if it helped or not.
film is probably the perfumes.I use an antistatic cleaning spray every couple of days.

Used dryer sheets. Of course!! That makes sense. I'll try that next. Thanks.
Yeah, just pick 'em from the collar or sleeve of the shirt you have on.
That's where I usually find my used dryer sheets, normally when I just have met new customers._______________________________________________________________
"But this august dignity I treat of, is not the dignity of kings and robes, but that abounding dignity which has no robed investiture. Thou shalt see it shining in the arm that wields a pick or drives a spike; that democratic dignity which, on all hands, radiates without end from God; Himself! The great God absolute! The centre and circumference of all democracy! His omnipresence, our divine equality!" - Chapter 26, Knights and Squires, MOBY DICK
Get ones with glass lenses. Glass doesn't attract dust with static electricity the way plastic does. And you can wipe dust off without scratching the lenses.
As the dust accumulates I normally dont notice until I take the glasses off. Then I usually wipe them on my shirt and start the process over again.
Other than when removing them, the times I notice are
A when I have a stream of sunlight hitting them at angle so I get reflected glare back in my eyes like somebody suddenly held a sheet of waxed paper in front of my face
or
B when I tilt my head to look up and all the dust settles off the lens and into my eyeball...
