I am building a house with the following eave detail, a 15/12 rafter with a lower sloped kicker sistered on top to create a curved roof eave. http://sitebuilder.verizon.net/trellix/sitebuilder/f_edit_page.html
The question is about the 3/4″ Plywood rough fascia shown. I will have the kickers tuned up with a string line so they’re in alignment. Is the 3/4″ plywood rough fascia necessary? the top edge formed by the kicker will be straight and true, the bottom could be trued with the 1x_ soffit piece.

Hard to answer your question, your link is a 404.
I always use a subfascia with a closed soffit. It allows me to be a little sloppy on the tails. I use a nailer on the wall and lookouts along with the subfasia which gives a good strong nailing surface for everything.
But I can't imagine ripping plywood for a subfasia.
Nor can I . #4 pine is stronger, straighter, and longer.

the subfascia here is a little over 1' wide. Do you ever with 1x_ material?
I've done it with 1x but the quality here isn't that great and we use hardie soffit so the 2x gives a bigger nailing spot.

Yep, same thing here......Texas typical.
