Measure twice, cut once, then nail. Oh yeh, then it's Miller time!
*are you talking about the cornice ?... as in fascia, soffit , frieze board ?easiest is to nail a 2x4 sub-fascia across the tails of your trusses...snap a cut -off line to even the tails out..then nail your soffit blocking to the back of the sub-fascia and the sides of the truss tails...toenail the other end to the wall....nail furring parallel to the fascai to hold the soffit..put on your finish fascia and put up a vinyl soffit...box the ends...
