electric cord for new vacumm
I bought a vacuum and the cord is junk. I looked for the wire gauge on the cord and it is barely readable. But I think it says 17/20. Is that the gauge? Made in/by Huan.
I priced cord and am ready to replace it and the other nicer vacuum (wife and kids have mangled it) cord. Just trying to gt the right gauge.

If it was made in the Far East, it's possible that they used metric wire for the power cord instead of the typical 14/16/18 AWG kind of wire we see here. If it came with an owner's manual, does it say in there anyplace how many amps it draws when operating?
I could look on the motor. I don't keep owners manuals for vacuums.
Vac motors are usually pretty high current. I'd go with at least 16 gauge SJOW. 14 gauge would be better.
