Last night my dog cornered a skunk against the house and of course got sprayed. He is cleaned up pretty well, but the spot outside is horrible. It is right against the house.
I have used a gallon’s worth of the peroxide, baking soda, soap solution and saturated the ground. It didn’t help much.
Are there any other options other than time?
Thanks,
Ken

someone told me Katsup for the dog.... Wonder what the dog will do next time? They have a pretty keen sense of smell...
vinegar about 50 50 mix with water
I tried that before the peroxide, except it was straight vinegar.
I just went outside and it's getting better.
I guess time will fix it.
Try tincture of time - usually works. Like the time back in the 1930's when my father cleaned a skunk he trapped in the basement against his father's directions. Naturally it was winter. (He trapped it in the woods, not the basement.) Took a rather long time for the odor to go away.

We had a skunk hit our masterbedroom early one morning when we went to let the dog out. We literally fumigated by boiling straight vinegar in a closed room ... god you could cut the atmosphere in there w/ a knife!!! But we were sleeping well the very next night in there!!! it worked great!!
Unfortunately, boiling a skunked dog in vinegar might tend to upset the SPCA just a mite and you might not get the leniency afforded Michael Vick
I think we bathed the dog in tomato sauce/juice. She got hit as hard as the bedroom. Seemed to work. It seems to be one of those things that vasilates between fact and myth (the tomato juice); I hear it is the way to go, but I've also seem to hear that it is bunk.
My Siberian Husky got sprayed on the face. I used the peroxide solution on her and it took 9 months for the smell to finally go a way. She was sprayed and it soaked into her undercoat. Everytime she got her face wet, the smell would start to come back. Not alot, just enough to not want her laying her head on you lap.
There are some enzyme products at pet stores that should help for living spaces. These helped, but not recommended for animals.
Now, when I drive down the road and she/I smell a skunk, her head immediately pops up. The look I get from her is either get away or I want to play with that smell. I don't want to find out which one it is.
Good luck.
Yo migraine......sassy is gorgeous......of course you already knew that but thought I'd pass ya a nickel of proud there.......

tomato juice will do the trick. i've used it on many of my dogs, it's the best stuff i've found. i guess it should work on your house, plus it's cheap.
I have to second the tomato juice. It will do the trick. I remember my father giving the old dog many a tomato juice bath.
Trade the dog for a couple cats.
