OK- I am definitely revealing myself to be a mere weekend warrior with this one…
I bought a nice table saw blade about a year ago and haven’t gotten around swapping out the stock Dewalt blade and installing this nice one.
Anyway, I had it on my bench and at some point I got a large gob of yellow glue on it that has hardened.
I’m not sure it is safe to install the blade on my table saw with this glue protrusion but I am also not sure about a good way to scrape it off without damaging the blade. Any ideas? Should I try to melt it off?
Thanks

That glue is thermoplastic. Use the wife's hair dryer if you don't have a heat gun, to soften it up and then scrape it right off. It'll peel easy.

no - you have to scrape, not pound. That can ruin a blade.or was U joking?

Had a saw for a year and haven't set it up!! you should be reported to Tool Social Services and have that child removed from your home, and put in a foster home that would use it, nurture it and help it be a real saw.
Shame on you you tool neglecter
I've heard about people like you but never have seen on come out of the closet online!
Frankly I'm shocked your wife/neighbors haven't reported you yet.

No, it's not, but as others say it shouldn't be hard to get off.
Scott.
Thanks for the responses it sounds like it will be no big deal to remove the glue...
I'm not sure I agree with the others; this might cause a tragic accident. Better send it to me for extensive testing.
