Both are reputable manufacturers
Preferred for what?
The answer is project specific whereas you're seemingly looking for a useless generalization.
You can easily brand a door with a woodburning kit.
exterior entry doors
I guess I did not word my post very well.
What I meant to ask was this: "What entry door system, Jenn Weld or Therm true is considered superior in terms of quality and features?".
Superior to what, or have you already narrowed you chice down to those 2 manufacturers? What 'features' are important to yu?, etc..
You can always build your own door system, even an amatuer can build a better door than a manufactured one with a little research and time.
If you just want to keep out the cold or the heat in, look at freezer doors..
If you like stained glass and that is an overriding 'feature', look at local artisans - and by all means hire a professional engineer to design the hinge attachment <G>
Superior in 'value'? Go checkout the Habitat ReUse store near you.
Something to make the neighbors envious? Good luck... and I pity folks who think that way.
Resale value? Only effective if present door is a reall ratty thing.
etc... tell us what you are looking for, vs. just a spam typ ad for one or the other or both.
Yeah, around here a door which seals well and doesn't let the snow blow in is high on the list. Such doors tend to not be "elegant", but are usually pretty durable. (And, in my experience, the brand makes little difference -- no-name brands can be just as good in this regard.)
Ask a stupid question, then you get a stupid answer.
Personal preference
I wouldn't purchase anything Jeldwen.
as to the door slab quality, Therma tru is decent.
the real clincher is the company that takes that slab and hangs it to the jamb they assemble and the parts used therein. Therma tru does not do the assembly around here in Ohio (or anywhere as far as I know) .
the distributor puts it all together according to the order specs. Crappy job there and you get crap.
